Operations Officer

East Midlands Airport

£21,500- £24,500

One of Europe's leading cargo freight services is looking for an Operations Officer to join their busy team at East Midlands Airport. The role requires the ability to provide effective and efficient assistance to the Operations Control Centre Manager in the day-to-day activities associated with the Operations and Flight Operations departments. This role will be on a shift pattern including nights and weekends.

Job Role:

  • Dispatch computer flight plans for all flights.
  • Secure optimum air traffic slots.
  • Timely distribution of all relevant documents and manual updates; including Aerodrome charts, Runway Performance and Operations Manuals.
  • Liaise with internal departments and customers as required on current operational matters.
  • Ensure that copies of all flight plans are made available to crew.
  • Anticipate and co-ordinate require changes to the flight schedule and liaise with relevant departments.
  • Monitor the flight schedule, maintain and update the flight watch board (PDC) as required.
  • Ensure all customer and internal reports are completed and distributed on time and in full.
  • Maintain a weather and NOTAM watch appropriate to the operation and liaise with all relevant departments.
  • Liaise with customers as required/ directed on delays or significant events.
  • Support/assist with crew requirements e.g. accommodation and transportation as appropriate. Manage all aircrew enquiries. Update the flight crew management system.

Academic Requirements

  • Educated to 'A' level or equivalent

Person Specification:

  • Minimum of 2 years recent Aviation Operations experience, preferable in and airlines operational control environment.
  • Possess professional, friendly and customer-focused personality
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of flight planning, FDP Limitations, Weather reports & NOTAM's.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (both written & verbal)
  • Proven problem solving & planning skills
